Was surprised to find this website! I see the postings are a few years old. But thought I’d make comment and see if anyone remembers me. I was in the hospital a few times in the 60′s and early 70′s. I see posts by Glenn Henry and I do remember him. We used to visit together at PT.

I had a really good friend at the hospital her name back then was Trudy Templin, (I hope I got the last name right). I would love to be able to find her again; I know she was in for hip dysplasia (I think that’s what it’s called). She was from Reading Pennsylvania.oh yeah if anyone else wants to contact me, if they remember a little girl with glasses named Mary Blazes please feel free to email me at: mblazes4@comcast.net

      Welcome Mary,

I hope you are able to contact some of the patients you met during your stay at The hospital. I was there earlier than you, 1966 through 1969. This site has been completed just a few months with the goal
Of helping people to reconnect with each other. You should be notified if you have people replying to your post and please feel free to put your story on the blog stage. In the comments section after you have two comments approved the comments you leave will will be automatically posted.

      Again, welcome aboard.

Hello, I just found this site this morning, I think it is such a wonderful idea. I was an inpatient in the late 1960s to the early 70s. I have a news clipping from that time, I will try to locate it and send a copy. I was born without my left hip socket, I had numerous surgergies. I will always remember reaching for the girl in the bed next to me and pulling our beds together, wheelchair races and most of all when Meatloaf came to sing to us. Stephanie, my nickname in childhood was Tessie.

      Hello Tessie,

I’m glad that you found the site and hope that you will be able to reconnect with someone you knew when you were a patient. I was there in 1966 through 1969 and many of the stories that I am hearing are much the same. The boys got in trouble and guess what, the girls got in trouble too.

Thank you for contributing. Don’t forget, to use the checkboxes to be notified of any new content being posted on the web site. In addition, please visit the face book page and leave a comment. Hopefully this will be in another way that patients can reconnect.

Hello, just found this web site. I was a patient there pretty often. I remember when I went in and was bed bound with weights on my legs and didn’t want to do a thing. They came and made me do the activities. I am now 39 years old. I was in there for my hips in I believe 1985. If anybody is on here and was in around that time I would love to chat. My name at that time was Hope Kramer. My email address is hopegolembewski@gmail.com. I am also on facebook

some of the people you knew while at Etown.

Remember those who served so we can be free. Let us never forget.

I don’t remember too much about my time here. It would have been the mid 80′s. What I do remember is when Richard Simmons stopped by for a visit and my mom went tearing down they hallway with me in a wheelchair so we could see him and I kept asking “Who is Richard Simmons?”

  12. Glenn Henry says:

Oh yes, I need to know what things on the site don’t work
    as well as suggestions. Please!

Glenn, Any chance of getting some pictures on to draw back some more interest?
There was a short period of time when my name came up as soon as I clicked on the site. Now I have to type it in every section I want to look at.

      • admin says:

        Hi Barb,

I have a lot to catch up including pictures. I will be
addressing many issues in the next several weeks, assuming I keep feeling better.

As far as your name coming up, I believe names are attached to posts and the more posts the more your name is out there. I think.
